The Right Honourable Fergus Ewing MSP, Minister for Community Safety (the ministry responsible for drugs policy and related issues in Scotland) kindly gave the keynote address at the first annual Recovery Academy conference in Glasgow, 24th September. Following the event the Minister conveyed the following to the Academy’s board:

“I would like to offer my congratulations to the Recovery Academy for a first rate conference which offered a unique and stimulating insight into the development of Recovery thinking in the UK. I’m aware this was the Academy’s first ever conference in Scotland, and it served as a fitting prelude to the Recovery Weekend which in itself was an inspiration to all who, like me, believe that Recovery can and does happen.

I would like to offer the Recovery Academy every good wish for the future and I commend your ongoing work to promote the evidence, values and continuing development of the Recovery agenda in Scotland, and in the UK as a whole.”

We would like to thank the Minister for these words of encouragement and his enthusiastic participation in both the conference and the Recovery Weekend as a whole.

All conference materials are available for download here.
