Conference downloads

Thanks to EVERYONE who made the first annual Recovery Academy conference such an overwhelming success. Informal readings of the feedback sheets indicate the vast majority of delegate rated the event “Excellent” – wonderful! The atmosphere was warm, lively, and friendly. Presentations were superb and the workshops allowed for more personal and focussed exchanges. A great start to the recovery weekend.

As promised, all conference materials are available to download from the site. There is a dedicated download page, but links have been added below for convenience.

Thank you again – your enthusiasm and commitment are sincerely valued and appreciated by all at the RA. Please do consider becoming a member if you aren’t already.

Iam in early recovery and I thought the conference excellent. At least now people in recovery know the ball is rolling with fergus ewing MP stating that all the major parties are in aggreement on drug policies etc.The conference itself was inspirational and motivational to people like myself ” who want to give something back” to society.

Stephen where is Phil Hanlon— Professor of Public Health, at Glasgow Uni presentation, sorry i cant find it, he was the surprise treasure for me and would like to read more of his work ! any pointers welcome. I wouldnt mind doing a blog on wiredin about his presentation but dont want to attempt it just from memory.

Phil’s presentation was absolutely superb, wasn’t it? We were delighted he agreed to speak as our academic keynote. I’m currently exchanging with Phil about uploading some material. He would prefer not to have the presentation uploaded – as it would be read out of context of the event itself and his supplementation’s.

However, he has very kindly supplied some notes which I’ll be uploading ASAP. Currently hitting a PhD deadline for tomorrow, so bear with me!

Ian – thanks so much for the kind feedback. Valued and sincerely appreciated. I’m delighted you were able to take so much from it – just what we were hoping to achieve! Do stay in touch – and drop and email requesting to join the RA to info@recoveryacademy.org.

Would be great to have you on board!

Hi Stephen,
I was really sorry I couldn’t make the conference. Some late UKRF deadlines that needed meeting! I think I would have enjoyed the conference more. Glad it went so well. I was hoping to catch up at the Recovery Walk but gather you had to get off. Next time.
Take care,
Alistair

No problem Alistair. As you’ve seen there’s plenty of literature from the conference available for download – so you can get a feel for the day via those. All presentations are there now, plus Bill’s and Alexandre’s respective addresses, plus the wonderful conference booklet. So plenty to absorb! Be well. S.
